The GNU/Linux Desktop Survival Guide (ISBN 0-9757109-1-5) provides an extensive overview of installing, managing and using a GNU/Linux system, including many recipes ready to cook. It is, internationally, a much respected and referenced resource. On OSNews.com it was described as a "Good Debian desktop survival guide that covers all the major applications a user would need". To support its ongoing development, financial contributions are welcome, giving access to an electronic PDF version ($40AUD/$35USD).

Togaware has developed an administrators tool for managing many aspects of a Debian GNU/Linux systems. Debian has a wealth of tools for system administration and they've been packaged up into wajig.
