Email Quoting

REVIEW An excellent article on email quoting etiquette can be found at http://mailformat.dan.info/quoting/. This covers the bottom posting versus top posting debate, and comes out slightly in favour of the bottom posting style, but identifies the “horses for courses.” Thus, in business, and where all correspondents are using the same email tool, top posting is common. Nonetheless, it is really a poor style that causes considerable added burden for others who need to wade through a ton of quoted messages to try and fathom out what is going on. Bottom (and interleaved) posting is the way to go.

And why should email be different to normal literary traditions where comments usually come after the quote on which one is commenting?
