Amos is a 2012 Compaq Presario CQ45 laptop with a modest 6GB RAM, basic 300GB HDD, and an Intel CPU. It can handle light internet browsing and Zoom calls. It was refurbished with Ubuntu to bring life back into the computer having grown old and slow over the years with Windows 7.

After powering up the machine press ESC for the BIOS and F9 to choose the boot menu. Proceed to boot from a USB thumb drive image of Ubuntu 22.04 and install, overwritting the Windows 7 installation on the hard disk. Follow the steps in Section 4.1.
