18.10 Find Files Containing Specific String

From the current directory list any file containing strings like ausdm04 and ausdm15. Use grep with -r (recursive), -w (match the whole word) and -l (list the filename rather than the lines found):

grep -rnwl . -e 'ausdm[01][0-9]'

The rgrep command is the same as grep with -r.

rgrep -nwl . -e 'ausdm[01][0-9]'

Find a Makefile that contains the string camera:

find . -type f -name 'Makefile' -exec grep -l 'camera' {} +
